We Are One Youth Hosts Successful 3rd Annual Blood Drive, Meeting Critical Need During Emergency Shortage

Chicago, Illinois Jul 20, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - We Are One proudly announces the successful completion of our 3rd annual blood drive held on June 29, 2024. This years event was a resounding success, achieving our goal and providing essential support during a critical time of emergency for blood donations.

In 2022, our organization made headlines by setting a Guinness World Record for the most sign-ups in 24 hours, with an astounding 71,121 sign-ups. We set a goal of 86 units, and through the incredible efforts of our volunteers and donors, we registered 68 donors, collected 36 units of whole blood, and had 20 double red cell donors, contributing 40 units. Despite 12 deferrals, the total units collected reached 76, potentially helping 228 patients. Notably, 15 individuals donated blood with Versiti for the first time, showcasing the reach and influence of our efforts.
