This was the feeling at the Tenth Annual Josie Music Awards held at The Grand Ole Opry House this past October 27th. It is the biggest night in Independent Music with all genres represented. The Josie Music Awards celebrate those in the independent music industry and legends the world knows and loves.
Founders Josie Passantino-Boone and Tinamarie Passantino planned an unforgettable night for the independent music industry. Upon arrival, nominees were met with a full media area managed by Wayne PR, a luxurious red carpet photo experience managed by Janet Reynolds Photography, and a celebratory show. As founder Josie and guest presenters called out the winners, they were greeted on stage by founder Tinamarie before walking into the legendary circle to make their speeches.
This year 75,000 submissions poured in during the open submission period for a chance to be a part of this epic ten-year celebration of The Josie Music Awards. After careful review 3.2% of submissions made it to nomination. Ultimately, 196 awards were presented during the live full production show. This show never disappoints. The magical night included outstanding performances, celebrity presenters, and unforgettable winner speeches.
Nominees and attendees were treated to many special moments as when an iconic music artist stepped out, their voice, clear and powerful, filled the room to thrill the crowd. That happened when Tiffany hit the stage to perform the legendary song I Think Were Alone Now resonating with every heart in the audience. The audience was thrilled to see her walk into the crowd while performing. The crowd danced and sang along. Everyone joined in to celebrate Tiffany as she was presented with the first JMA Icon Award.
Mr. Neal McCoy sang his hit song The Shake which brought the audience to their feet dancing and singing along. Everyone joined in and celebrated as Mr. Neal McCoy was presented with the Lifetime Career Achievement Award. Also thrilling the crowd was the celebration of Mr. John McEuen who was presented with the Musicians Lifetime Career Award, Randy Edelman who performed and was presented with the Songwriters Legend Award, and Country For A Cause was presented with the Humanitarian of the Year award.
Mr. Talkbox opened the show and got everyone on their feet and ready to celebrate this independent music community. Buddy Jewell, Ashton Shepherd, LVVRS, and JD Shelburne also performed this night. Presenters included Doug Stone, John McEuen, Neal McCoy, Audra McLaughlin, Ashton Shepherd, Clarence Jey, Jesse Keith Whitley, Buddy Jewell, Leon Everette, Craig Wayne Boyd, Tim and Roxane Atwood, and Jeff Mosely (Nashville Insider).
The Preparty Concert Celebration was held at the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. David Wills was inducted into the Independent HOF and John Berry headlined the concert event. The Songwriter Achievement category was presented this night.
