Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley to Complete 1,000 Haircuts for Homeless

San Jose, California Feb 19, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley to Complete 1,000 Haircuts for Homeless

Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley (SeedsofHopeSV.org) announced that their 1,000th donated haircut for homeless residents living in Silicon Valley will take place between 8-10 am on February 19th, 2025 at Hopes Corner- corner of Hope and Mercy Streets in Mountain View, CA.

Geoff Schuller, Seeds of Hope Silicon Valley, said, While we are working to create permanent homes for 1,000 chronically homeless people in Silicon Valley, our Haircuts of Hope program is a way we can make current life on the streets a bit more livable.

The Community First movement, as described by the TODAY show, started in Austin, TX and is springing up across the country. It is designed to create not just housing but a community for those who struggle on the streets.  Seeds of Hope - Silicon Valley is currently looking to acquire land in Santa Clara County that will allow for the development of a local Community First development.

Our goal is to build neighborhoods of tiny homes, where currently homeless people can live together, as a community, for as long as they like. And do this for a fraction of the cost that other developments cost, stated Schuller.

Haircuts of Hope is brought to the greater Bay Area in partnership with Hopes Corner of Mountain View; Cornerstone Fellowship Friday Community Outreach in Livermore; the H.O.M.E resource center warming shelter in Hollister; and Brothers and Sisters in Community Service (BASICS) at Our Lady of Refuge Parish in San Jose. Licensed cosmetologists from Great Clips and Hair International are providing the haircuts.
