Chicago, Illinois Sep 19, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - The September 18 World Peace Summit by HWPL celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, marking a decade of significant achievements in global peace efforts. Over the past ten years, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) has forged peace agreements with various global leaders, institutions, and civic groups, pushing forward their message of peace. This year, more than 230 civic groups in South Korea have joined the 'Companion Campaign,' a collaboration that highlights HWPLs enduring mission.

A major highlight of HWPL's work is the resolution of the 40-year conflict in Mindanao, Philippines, which had left 120,000 dead and millions displaced. Chairman Man Hee Lee mediated a historic peace agreement between Catholic and Muslim leaders in 2014, setting the stage for reconciliation in the region. This peace process has continued to inspire international movements, with HWPL establishing peace schools, monuments, and securing widespread cooperation from governments and organizations around the world.

Central to HWPLs peace initiatives is the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), which provides actionable steps toward achieving lasting peace. Endorsed by countries such as Seychelles, Eswatini, and Antigua and Barbuda, the DPCW has gained formal recognition through resolutions in the Central American Congress and the Pan-African Parliament. HWPL continues to push for the DPCW to be adopted as international law.

At the heart of HWPLs achievements is Chairman Man Hee Lee, a 93-year-old peace advocate who has tirelessly traveled the globe. His personal experience as a war veteran drives his dedication to peace. Over the past decade, Lee has conducted 32 peace tours across 52 countries, earning international respect for his efforts in mediating conflict and advocating for global harmony.

Today, HWPL boasts 500,000 members from 170 countries, with an additional 100,000 new members joining in the past year. The organizations reach continues to grow, with the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), an HWPL affiliate, recognized as one of the largest youth peace organizations worldwide.
